Over the course of a few years I painted five cows for Cow Parade — West Hartford, Boston, and a commissioned work for a private company in Chicago. The cows were auctioned to benefit various community charities.

The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities sponsored Pandamania, another community event for charity.   I had wanted to call my panda Anna Pandana, the Bandana Panda with a Panda Bandana, but they said it was too long. I settled on PandaBandana.

The headline above is misleading. I was chosen to participate, but there was no competition among the selected artists.

Following the Pandamania event, PandaBandana was located at Mr. Henry’s Restaurant on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. I am not sure if he is still a part of their restaurant, but I can vouch for the quality of their food.

Another community fundraiser involved the painting of instruments to benefit the West Hartford Symphony Orchestra. My submission was Fiddleheads.
